Job summary

CFS in Federal Way, WA is seeking an Accounting Technician I to gain hands-on accounts payable experience within a finance and accounting operations team. This onsite role focuses on processing AP transactions, maintaining records, and supporting compliance activities, with room to grow through audits and vendor management.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, about a year of bookkeeping or accounting experience, and proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; accounting or bookkeeping coursework preferred.
• One year of bookkeeping or accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions and weekly payment runs.
• Maintain purchase orders, accounts payable records, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with compliance activities related to claims payments, prevailing wage requirements, and retainage regulations.
• Support vendor onboarding, including W‑9 processing.
• Provide assistance to staff and vendors regarding accounts payable systems and processes.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and supporting documentation requests.
