Job summary

Van Wyck & Van Wyck in New York is seeking a Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable for a temporary, full-time assignment beginning by late September 2026 and continuing through February 2027. You will handle vendor invoices, payments, and AP records, reporting to the Controller while supporting payroll, 1099 allocations, and intercompany entries.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high volumes during peak event seasons.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounting support
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Exceptional attention to detail with high transaction accuracy
• Onsite availability Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with accurate approvals and coding
• Initiate timely, verified vendor payments
• Maintain accounts payable records and internal reporting
• Post customer invoices and reconcile bank activity
• Record payroll and intercompany journal entries, and 1099 allocations
