Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is assisting an established organization in Alpharetta, GA to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. The role leads the accounting function, establishes policies, drives process improvements, and ensures accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public/private), CPA preferred, and a hands-on approach to building scalable processes. This onsite, full-time position offers growth as the finance organization expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation strongly preferred; exceptional candidates without a CPA will be considered.
• Public accounting experience with private industry experience preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience; 5–10 years ideal.
• Demonstrated success improving accounting processes and establishing scalable policies and procedures.
• Experience leading or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience working in multi-location environments desirable.
• Experience with multi-site organizations is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Establish, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to create a scalable and efficient accounting function.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that strengthen accounting operations.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Evaluate accounting systems and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and support future growth.
• Support special projects and contribute to the continued development of the finance organization.
