Job summary

Savvas Learning Company is seeking an onsite Educational Consultant for 6-12 ELA to help districts implement Savvas programs and drive turn‑around efforts. The role emphasizes coaching, professional development, data use, and instructional technology integration.

Required are 5+ years of 6-12 ELA teaching, workshops/coaching experience, and strong collaboration skills. Local candidates in the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic preferred.

Qualifications

• BA or BS required; MA preferred.
• Experience offering workshops and coaching to teachers.
• Experience with classroom-based technology integration.
• Experience with differentiated instruction.
• Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and at least five years of 6-12 experience in ELA.
• Strong collaboration and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Ability to plan strategically with school leaders and teachers.
• Ability to provide instructional support using instructional technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement classroom components and resources in the program.
• Differentiate instruction based on student need and manage Savvas classroom tech.
• Utilize data and reporting tools to influence instruction and decisions.
• Provide feedback to teachers and model coaching conversations.
• Coach teachers to apply program philosophy and pedagogy.
• Observe practices post-professional development to track progress.
• Offer feedback on observed practices and key instructional features.
• Use two dashboards (Performance and Assignment) to drive decisions.
• Support administrators with program tools and feedback.
• Facilitate teacher training and onsite technical support.
• Maintain regular communication with school and district leaders.
• Conduct classroom/instructional coaching and training facilitation.
