Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical/engineering diploma preferred.
• 2–3 years of engineering experience required.
• Massachusetts 3rd Class Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, repair and clean power plant equipment.
• Observe the operation of the plant and make necessary adjustments.
• Respond to emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
• Read meters and gauges at specified intervals to ensure proper readings.
• Keep power plant logs with readings, steam and power generation, fuel usage and maintenance data.
• Test boiler water and adjust chemicals to maintain balance.
