Job summary

Waukesha County Technical College invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Humanities, Communication, and Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will teach Communication Skills courses, including Oral/Interpersonal Communication and Speech, on campus and online, under the supervision of the associate dean.

Responsibilities include planning instruction and using varied delivery formats.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Oral Communications, Public Speaking, or related field with 18 graduate credits in Oral Communication.
• At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience as the lead instructor (not TA).
• Experience designing, planning, and implementing alternative delivery formats (internet, accelerated, hybrid).
• Experience in CANVAS or similar learning management system.
• Online teaching experience required.
• Experience in international or diversity studies is desired.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction to a range of program students.
• Integrate technology into teaching of course material.
• Contribute to program development, curriculum design, and program assessment.
• Collaborate with a variety of faculty, staff, and students using strong communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate a strong foundation in pedagogy.
• Use feedback as a developmental tool for growth around instructional effectiveness and collegiality.
• Effective at teaching in multiple formats (face-to-face, hybrid, internet).
• Maintain positive relationships within the Liberal Arts programs and the various occupational programs at WCTC.
