Qualifications

• Official transcripts required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach online medical coding classes across Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Lead and participate in weekly online discussions with students.
• Grade and provide detailed feedback on assignments.
• Respond to student emails within 24 hours.
• Collaborate with HIT Program Coordinator and faculty.

Skills

Current medical coding experience (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS)

Teaching/training/tutoring experience

Familiarity with learning management systems

Experience using 3M encoder and grouper software

Education

Associate degree in Health Information Technology/Management

Current RHIT certification and coding certification (CPC or CCS-P or CCS)

Bachelor’s degree or higher with RHIT or RHIA certification preferred
