Job summary

ECPI University seeks instructors for its Master’s Mechanical Engineering program to share industry experience and deliver hands-on instruction. The role emphasizes mentoring, practical coursework, and support for adult learners in a five-week format.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in ME or related field with graduate hours. The position requires availability for evenings and weekends, with occasional live sessions via Zoom and weekly office hours.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D design software.
• Experience with Machine Tool Technology, CNC G-Code programming, CAD/CAM software is a plus.
• 1+ years industry experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering; 7+ years preferred; recent within last 5 years.
• Mechatronics candidates should have strength in control systems, instrumentation, measurements, and mechanical systems.
• Technical certification or licensure if required.
• Areas of expertise include: Drafting & Modeling, Engineering Mechanics, Manufacturing & machining, Machine Design & FEA, Thermal & Fluid Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach in ECPI University's Master’s Mechanical Engineering program.
• Provide practical hands-on instruction, training, mentoring, and ongoing faculty support.
• Support evening and weekend class sessions for adult learners.
• Deliver one live session per week and one live office hour via Zoom.

Overview

We are looking for instructors to teach in our Master's Mechanical Engineering program. This would be an ideal position for a Mechanical Engineering professional. No prior teaching experience is needed; we provide training, mentoring, and ongoing faculty support.

Our terms are five weeks long and offer faculty the perfect environment in which to share their specific industry experiences to help students achieve learning outcomes. Candidates must be available evenings and weekends to support our busy adult learners.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

• Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution.

Experience:

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor or other 3D design software


• Experience with Machine Tool Technology, CNC G-Code programming, and CAD/CAM software is a plus


• 1 + years industry experience in a mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering field required; 7+ years career industry experience preferred.


• Industry experience must be within the last 5 years.

Online Faculty Technical Requirements:

• Reliable high-speed internet required


• Responsible for supplying your own windows-based computer and webcam.


• Your computer system must pass the ECPI University minimum requirements test.


• Required to teach one live session each week and hold one live office hour per week via Zoom
