Position Title
Online Learning Librarian
Job Description
The Online Learning Librarian provides the universitycommunity with assistance with researching, finding, obtaining, andevaluating information, focusing on distance or onlineeducation.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide instruction and assistance to the university communityon identifying and meeting information needs, including teachingclass sessions and providing one-to-one instruction.
- Perform outreach to the distance/online community.
- Create tutorials and develop online guides.
- Consult with faculty on assignments as necessary; assistfaculty with their research needs.
- Participate in special projects affecting the library anduniversity community, including, but not limited to, presentingworkshops and monitoring resources in the open access and openeducation resources field, participating in collection developmentdecisions, liaising with academic departments to promote newresources or identify gaps, and volunteering for campusprojects.
- Track trends and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field,attending webinars and conferences as necessary.
- Hire, guide, and train other staff members as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of instruction and teaching in higher education.
- Knowledge of library services and resources.
- Good presentation and teaching skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other generaloffice equipment and software.
- Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and inwriting.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well asconcentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- This position requires a Master’s Degree in LibraryScience.
- Must have one to three years of experience in a libraryenvironment.

Physical Demands
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required tosit, stand, and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or fingermovement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work oncomputer, telephone, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Hours of Work
- Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- During Academic year, one evening per week 11:30 am – 8:00pm
- Occasional Sundays from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
