Job summary

The University of Washington School of Social Work is seeking an Instructional Designer to serve as the primary instructional design and online learning specialist. You will support high-quality online and hybrid graduate education, partnering with faculty and program leadership to enhance teaching, accessibility, and student success, with a focus on expanding the online MSW program.

This deadline-driven role requires on-site presence with potential hybrid arrangements; collaboration across MSW

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Social Work, or related field.
• 4 years of experience in Designing or supporting academic/professional learning, including advanced Canvas/LMS administration.
• Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructional content for online and hybrid graduate programs.
• Guide faculty in video lecture/media development and storyboard planning.
• Build and update Canvas courses adhering to templates and accessibility standards.
• Collect and analyze course evaluation data and drive iterative improvements.
• Perform miscellaneous duties to support the School’s mission.
