Job summary

Total Wine & More in Brentwood, MD is hiring a Merchandiser to maximize inventory, support online operations, and deliver a positive shopping experience. The role encompasses merchandising, sales support, front‑end duties, and other tasks as needed, reporting to store management.

Responsibilities include stocking, displays, curbside orders, and delivering exceptional customer service while building product knowledge through ongoing wine, spirits, and beer training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience, with 1+ year in a retail setting (preferred).
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
• Physical requirements: must be 21 years of age or older; walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8‑10 hours a day; safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets; climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly; may be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Process freight, organize and distribute inventory, pull and stock merchandise.
• Build displays and end caps, place signage.
• Fulfill orders and assist with in‑store and curbside pick‑up and delivery services; drive and make deliveries if assigned.
• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
• Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws – if delivery is added as an essential job function.
