Job summary

Odessa College invites applications for a Child Development Online Adjunct (Applicant Pool). This part-time instructor will deliver high-quality online courses, engage students, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate course records.

Responsibilities include teaching online and dual credit classes, advising, and participating in committees to support student success. The position requires strong communication skills, adaptability to multiple delivery formats, and commitment to teaching

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher with demonstrated competencies in teaching.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in teaching or related field.
• Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate course hours in teaching or related field.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in the curriculum.
• Teaches Web, Web-enhanced, and ITV classes using various instructional technologies.
• Teaches Dual Credit classes at locations throughout the West Texas area.
• Assists with recruitment, advising, and retention activities and participates in committees.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.
• Demonstrates willingness to teach various courses, times, locations, and delivery methods.
• Uses coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners.
• Provides students with syllabi, policies, and assignment instructions.
• Administers tests including comprehensive final exams.
• Affirms the worth and dignity of all persons and the right to learn.
• Maintains an appropriate learning climate in all delivery modes.
• Prepares adequately for class and arrives promptly.
• Delivers course material in a clear and understandable manner.
• Addresses student concerns via office hours and electronic communication.
• Demonstrates ability to teach students from diverse ages and backgrounds.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills.
