Job summary

PennWest invites qualified applicants to teach Arabic language and culture for the Spring 2025 term through 2026-2027. Courses will be taught online, with an emphasis on engaging diverse learners and leveraging digital tools.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree with native proficiency in MSA and at least one dialect, plus college teaching experience. Preferred candidates may hold a PhD and have experience with program assessment and online instruction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Arabic, Linguistics, Middle Eastern Studies, Second Language Acquisition, or closely related field.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and at least one Arabic dialect.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Arabic at the college/university level.
• Proficiency with learning management systems and digital instructional tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct online Arabic language and culture courses across introductory to advanced levels.
• Engage diverse student populations with inclusive teaching practices.
• Contribute to program growth and continuous improvement through assessment and collaboration.
