Job summary

Qualifications

• Wamiliarity with early elementary classroom supports and CPI training or willingness to obtain it.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children with special needs.

Position Overview:

The Flint Cultural Center Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionateOne-on-OneStudent Support Specialist to provide individualized support for a student with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with early elementary-aged students and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provideone-on-onesupport to a student with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist with academic tasks, social interactions, and daily activities.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the student’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and communicate regularly with the educational team.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• At least 60 college credits.
• Experience working with early elementary-aged students.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills and skilled at de-escalation of student needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.

Hours and Compensation:

• Hours: 7:45 AM - 4:15 PMonstudent days.
• Compensation: $15.00 per hour, dependingonexperience level.
