Job summary

The Flint Cultural Center Academy in Flint, MI seeks an Instructional Interventionist paraprofessional to support certified staff and ancillary staff in instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities in the assigned area. This role may be one-on-one or in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEP goals, implementing behavior plans, supporting meals and health care needs, and helping with student arrival/dismissal.

Qualifications

• Must meet State guidelines for Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals.
• Provide a list of work and personal references.
• Must successfully complete a LiveScan Criminal Records Check.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports instructional and related activities for students with and without disabilities under supervision.
• May participate in IEPT meetings when requested.
• Assists with implementing instructional activities based on IEP goals and objectives.
• Reinforces and supplements the regular education curriculum under supervision.
• Assists with behavior intervention plans and data collection.
• Delivers established procedures and interventions per behavior plans and district policies.
• Assists with de-escalation and management of behavior.
• Operates/adapts equipment and technology as needed.
• Assists with lifting and movement of students as required.
• Assists with meals, play, recreation and other activities in assigned area.
• Assists with health care and personal care needs of students.
• Assists with student arrival and dismissal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by teachers or administrators.
• Demonstrates required mental/physical stamina for the role.
