Job summary

Chippewa Valley Schools in Clinton Township, MI seeks a One-on-One Special Ed Aide for SACC to support a student with a disability during the school day and in school-aged childcare programming before and after school.

Starting immediately, you will assist with academics, behavior plans, data collection, and safety, while working closely with teachers and staff to ensure a consistent, caring learning environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Annual CPI and Core Special Ed training required.
• Training in physical development, social/emotional skills, behavior, and daily living skills.
• Experience with children and special education students preferred.
• English reading/writing communication required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support under teacher supervision.
• Assist with academic tasks and reading, writing, math, spelling.
• Implement behavior plans and CPI-trained interventions.
• Monitor and redirect student behaviors to deescalate incidents.
• Assist with personal care tasks as needed (hygiene, diapering, toileting).
• Collect data on behavior and academics.
• Support before/after school childcare programming.
• Collaborate with staff for continuity of care.
• Participate in professional development.
• Communicate with staff and community.
