Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with children and preferably with special education students.
• Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist an individual student one-on-one, small groups or classroom under supervision of teachers.
• Assist students with completing academic tasks.
• Engage students with instructional activities developed by the teacher (reading, writing, math, life skills).
• Help manage student behavior using established plans and CPI training.
• Monitor, intervene, and redirect student behaviors to prevent escalation.
• Assist students with personal needs including hygiene and clothing.
