Job summary

Chippewa Valley Schools with Ojibwa Elementary in Michigan is seeking a SACC Aide to support the director and ensure a safe, engaging environment for school-age children before and after school. The role requires caring and patient individuals, proficiency in communicating with children, staff, and families, and the ability to follow school policies; CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Experience working with children’s groups and/or training in early childhood development or childcare, preferred.
• Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: May be required to attend CPR/First Aid training.
• Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations, required.
• Good communication skills, required.
• Ability to be caring, understanding, and friendly towards students, required.
• Ability to relate to children with special needs, required.
• Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook, required.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and community, required.

Responsibilities

• Duties may include crafts, games, stories, lunchtime, etc.
• Assist in planning and organizing daily events.
• Monitor children on the playground.
• Communicate with community, staff, and students to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.
