Job summary

Biddeford School Department seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one in-school medical support for a student with complex needs. The role requires clinical expertise, coordination with the student’s care team, and adherence to school health policies.

The RN will administer tube feedings, medications, and treatments during the school day, document care, and collaborate with staff to enable the student’s educational participation in a safe setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Maine
• Experience with tube feedings
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred
• School nursing or one-on-one private duty experience a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable, organized and flexible
• Ability to respond to medical emergencies calmly and efficiently
• Maine Department of Education CHRC fingerprinting

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care during school hours for a student with complex medical needs
• Administer and manage tube feedings, medications, and other physician-ordered treatments
• Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of care provided and student health status
• Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and medical professionals to ensure continuity of care
• Support student participation in classroom activities and mobility throughout the school environment
• Uphold infection control and safety procedures at all times
• Maintain a calm, professional demeanor and positive attitude
