Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a hospital sitter (patient observer) at Providence Medical Center–Kansas City, KS. The sitter provides continuous one-on-one observation to patients at risk, without performing clinical procedures, and works per diem as needed.

Responsibilities include constant patient observation under the RN, maintaining a safe environment, and proactive communication with the nursing team. Qualifications include a high school diploma, English communication, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Within 90 days be eligible to participate in a CNA training program (preferred).
• BLS (AHA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visual observation of the patient under RN supervision.
• Ensure patient safety and assist in a clean environment.
• Communicate patient activity and behavior to the nurse regularly.
• Provide companionship and support to patients and staff.
