Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Mountainside, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work one-to-one with an adult man in Union County, helping with community outings and daily living skills to build independence in a supportive, mentoring role.

The role requires coaching, safety, documentation, and close communication with the Kindly team. Driving is required, and onboarding, background checks, and training are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability support, or caregiving is a plus.
• Able to commit reliably to agreed schedule
• Driving Required.
• Able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training.

Responsibilities

• Participating in grocery shopping, computer learning, community outings, walks, library visits, job searching and application follow-ups, local events and classes, and doctor’s appointments.
• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.
• Helping establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals.
• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation.
• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.
• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.
• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.
• Completing required documentation and staying in close communication with the Kindly team.
