Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work one-to-one with adults with developmental disabilities in New Jersey. The role emphasizes mentoring, coaching and building independence in community settings.

The ideal candidate is warm, reliable and patient, with strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting individuals toward their individual goals. Background checks, onboarding and training are required; driving credentials may be needed depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• Warm, reliable, patient and able to build trust.
• Strong communication skills and good judgment.
• Interest or experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, or disability services is a plus.
• Ability to complete required background checks, onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Spend time in the community participating in recreation, exercises, errands and other activities.
• Coach daily living, social, communication, problem-solving and independence skills.
• Help individuals build routines, confidence, self-advocacy and community connections.
• Support progress toward individualized goals while respecting choices and preferences.
• Provide companionship and model appropriate communication and relationships.
• Assist with daily routines or other support needs as assigned.
• Maintain safety, follow individualized instructions and communicate concerns.
• Complete required documentation and maintain reliable attendance and communication.
