Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Child Development Specialist to work one-on-one with children in home-based or center settings. You will coach children to build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and guided activities.

The role offers part-time hours with late-afternoon and weekend shifts, paying $22-$28 per hour plus training pay, mileage reimbursement, and supportive supervision from experienced clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as described (playing on floor, lifting up to 40 lbs).
• Strong communication skills with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and shared activities.
• Create meaningful connections to help children think, create, and engage with the world.
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve outcomes with fewer sessions.
• Track progress by documenting session notes and goal outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to build clinical skills and confidence.
• Learn evidence-based developmental care applied in real-life settings.
