Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a City Research Scientist to support the Antimicrobial Resistance Unit (ARU) and the One Health team within the Bureau of Communicable Diseases. This role provides dedicated analytical support to monitor drug-resistant organisms in humans and animals across New York City.

Responsibilities include coordinating WGS data transmission, developing routine ARU reports, and presenting results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with public health data analysis and surveillance.
• Familiarity with antimicrobial resistance concepts.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Support antimicrobial resistance surveillance in humans and animals.
• Coordinate data from whole genome sequencing (WGS) projects.
• Develop and maintain routine reports and dashboards for ARU projects.
• Present analyses to internal and external stakeholders.
