Job summary

VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center in Middleton, WI is expanding its Medical Oncology service and seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician to join the team. This full‑time position offers 4x10 hour shifts on weekdays and opportunities to work with cutting-edge cancer care for companion animals.

You will assist with chemotherapy administration, manage oncology patient intake and follow-ups, prepare lab samples, perform radiographs, and maintain accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT credential required or eligible for transfer.
• Eligible to transfer licensing within 3 months of hire.
• Experience in veterinary oncology or chemotherapy support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols.
• Manage oncology patient intake, treatments, and follow-up appointments.
• Provide compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents.
• Collaborate with Oncology team and other departments.
• Obtain and prepare lab samples (blood, urine, cytology).

Schedule : Full-Time opportunities available, 4x 10 hour shifts, weekdays.

Compensation: The starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols

• Handling oncology patient intakes, treatments, and follow-up appointments

• Providing compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents

• Collaborating with the Oncology team and other departments

• Obtaining and preparing lab samples (blood, urine, cytology, etc.)

• Performing radiographs and monitoring imaging procedures

• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment logs

Qualifications:

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

• Eligible to transfer current license to the state or obtain state credentialing within 3 months of hire.
