Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in New Orleans seeks a Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team. The role involves administering chemotherapy, venipuncture, and maintaining meticulous medical records, with strong client communication throughout.

The schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7a-5p. We value compassionate care, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced oncology environment.

Qualifications

• State-registered veterinary technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; oncology experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administration of chemotherapy, requiring excellent venipuncture skills.
• Coordinate and manage client communication via phone and email.
• Manage appointments, schedule additional appointments.
• Accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.

We are looking for: Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician

Proposed Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7a-5p

This team develops strong bonds with our patients and clients, requiring compassion and excellent patient care. Our Medical Oncology technicians will develop excellent venipuncture skills, have high attention to detail and will gain experience in chemotherapy treatments.
