Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an Oncology Veterinary Technician to join our team in a fast-paced specialty setting. The role requires performing physical exams, monitoring vitals, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, and assisting with chemotherapy administration and patient care.

Strong communication and compassion are essential as you support clinicians and educate clients. This position offers a Monday-Thursday schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with competitive hourly pay and opportunities

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a specialty veterinary hospital preferred.
• Good communication skills and compassion are a must.
• Self-motivated, quick thinker, and able to multi-task efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs (heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiration).
• Understand normal parameters and alert the doctor to any abnormalities.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters as needed.
• Assist with chemotherapy administration and dosages; ensure safe handling of agents.
• Discharge oncology patients and provide basic client education on home care and side effects.
• Maintain hospital operations, stock, and cleanliness.
