Work Schedule

• Must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

• Three (3) years or more of experience as an RN
• Two (2) years or more of oncology experience required

Summary

A Triage Nurse is a registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge providing individualized care and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers to address ongoing healthcare needs.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients by triaging oncology calls regarding treatment, surgery, and appointments.
• Monitor and manage patient symptoms.
• Manage complex patient care to minimize emergency visits and readmissions.
• Assess barriers to care and address patient, caregiver, or family needs.
• Provide education, resources, and referrals to patients and caregivers.
• Assist physicians and PA-C/ARNP with clinical interactions as needed.
• Complete clinical documentation accurately.
• Maintain professional boundaries and collaborate with the care team.
• Facilitate communication among the cancer care team to ensure timely and coordinated care.
• Review and report diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Provide education post-chemotherapy, radiation, infusion, and surgery.
• Adhere to rules and regulations set by the Florida State Board of Nursing.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse licensure (multistate or Florida single state)
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of RN experience
• Minimum 2 years of oncology experience
