Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest is seeking a Triage Nurse for Medical Oncology. This full-time, dayshift role supports the physician practice by triaging calls, scheduling visits, and coordinating care.

The position requires an accredited RN program graduate, an Illinois RN license, and 3+ years of hospital/outpatient experience with BLS CPR. Preferred BSN and additional certifications; some remote capabilities are noted.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• Current Registered Nurse License issued by State of Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Triage all incoming calls and messages, prioritizing and resolving with provider involvement.
• Document all communications in the electronic medical record.
• Schedule patient visits with providers when appropriate.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of clinical staff to ensure coverage and compliance with OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and participate in quality improvement activities.
