Saint Alphonsus is hiring a Tele Triage Registered Nurse in Nampa, Idaho, to manage calls from patients and caregivers for oncology clinics. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, protocol-based triage, patient education, and coordination of care within a team.

The schedule features 4 ten-hour shifts with Thursdays off, and requires state RN licensure in Idaho and cross-state licensure in Oregon. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care, document assessments, and utilize technology

Qualifications

• Uses effective communication skills to provide information to patients and caregivers.
• Works independently within an RN scope of practice with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Collects and interprets data related to patient health needs and concerns.
• Integrates evidence-based care into telephone triage assessments.
• Selects and uses appropriate protocols to aid in patient care.
• Demonstrates clinical judgment and critical thinking in response to patient requests.
• Identifies how to implement the plan of care with patients and families.
• Provides patient education as an outcome of the call based on assessed need.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to assist with accurate telephone triage.
• Document assessments, education, and interventions accurately.
• Deliver culturally sensitive nursing care respecting diverse patient backgrounds.
• Identify clinical problems related to patient care and telephone nursing practice.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Mentor telehealth RNs to share knowledge and best practices.
