Job summary

Powers Health Medical Group is seeking a Psychiatric Social Worker for its Cancer Care Center in Crown Point, IN. The role supports oncology patients and families with psychotherapeutic services, crisis intervention, and care coordination within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include an MSW and LCSW licensure (or eligibility), with 5 years of healthcare experience preferred and 2 years in oncology-related psychosocial care. Strong community resource knowledge is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required and Licensure as an LCSW is required or must pass licensure exam within six months of hire.
• Five years of healthcare experience preferred.
• Two years post-graduate experience in services to patients with chronic or acute illness, ideally oncology.
• Data entry or related office experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage crises.
• Knowledge of community resources and oncology-related supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychotherapeutic services to oncology patients and families.
• Conduct psychotherapy, group therapy, and family meetings.
• Assess biopsychosocial, spiritual, financial, developmental and cultural issues and coordinate resources.
