Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to float between Aurora and Centennial locations. The role involves administering chemotherapy and supportive care under physician supervision, with responsibilities including dose calculation, venipuncture and patient education.

Requirements include an accredited nursing program graduate, RN license, BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience, oncology preferred.

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Minimum two years nursing experience required; oncology experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under supervision of a physician.
• Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures; completes chemotherapy charge forms.
• Obtains pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms prior to administration of therapies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance; documents pump usage.
• Assesses patient and labs to modify doses; consults physician for dosage adjustments.
• Venipuncture, port access and central line care; administers medications with correct routes and times.
• Trains patient and caregiver on pump use at home and documents in chart.
• Documents nursing assessments and patient teaching in the chart; communicates with physician.
• Triages patient phone calls and documents information in the chart.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching materials.
