Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive cancer care provider, has a PRN Registered Nurse opportunity to float between our NoCo division sites (Thornton, Lakewood, Boulder, Longmont).

RN license in good standing, BSN preferred, BLS certification, and at least two years of nursing experience with oncology preferred. Competitive pay and flexible PRN shifts available.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • RN license with current state registration.
  • BLS certification; continuing education requirements.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under physician supervision.
  • Maintains knowledge of reimbursement procedures and completes chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Ensures pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapy.
  • Operates ambulatory infusion pumps and documents pump usage.
  • Assesses patient and labs for dose modification; communicates with physician.
  • Performs venipuncture and central line care; accesses ports.
  • Administers medications with correct product, dose, route and timing.
  • Documents nursing assessments, teaching and medication administration.
  • Communicates interventions to the physician and triages calls.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families.
