Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System seeks an experienced RN for the 32‑bed Oncology Unit (6 South) at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. You’ll provide comprehensive cancer care, participate in therapy protocols, and support patients through treatment and discharge planning.

The role requires BSN or MSN (or ADN with a later upgrade), is full-time, and involves day shifts with weekend rotation. Onc-specific education and mentorship are available within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program is required or ADN with the option to obtain within 5 years of hire.
• Chemotherapy certification is required within 1–2 years of hire.
• Oncology nursing experience is preferred for this unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient‑centered nursing care tailored to age and population needs.
• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments and update the care plan.
• Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to coordinate care.
• Deliver patient education specific to health conditions and treatment.
• Ensure safe administration of medications and adherence to nursing protocols.
• Maintain professional conduct and participate in quality improvement activities.
