Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join the Pulmonary/Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. The role supports a 31-bed inpatient unit with surgical and cancer patients, offering a collaborative environment, ongoing learning opportunities, and pathways for professional growth.

Work schedule is 7pm–7am, 24 or 36 hours per week, with competitive pay, generous benefits, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited college of nursing is required OR ADN with completion within 5 years from date of hire.
• Annual mandatory education requirements must be completed.
• ACLS required within specified time after hire (3–6 months depending on unit).

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Perform ongoing assessments to determine patients' nursing care needs.
• Develop and revise the plan of care to address patient needs and outcomes.
• Collaborate with providers and other clinical disciplines to coordinate care.
• Teach patients and families about health care problems and discharge planning.
