Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Oncology RN to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult oncology patients in acute and/or outpatient settings. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, chemo/biotherapy and blood product administration, symptom management, and thorough EMR documentation.

You will educate patients and families, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and uphold strict safety protocols for hazardous drugs, PPE, and waste handling.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license and be eligible to work in the applicable state(s).
• OCN certification preferred but not required.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred depending on care setting.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification strongly preferred.
• Excellent assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based oncology nursing care across the treatment continuum.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive infusions; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and document in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and discharge plans.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, social workers, and the care team.
• Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and psychosocial support; escalate changes promptly.
• Follow oncology safety protocols for hazardous drugs, PPE, and waste handling.
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based projects, and unit committees.
• Precept and mentor new staff; uphold Fusion’s values.
• Maintain required certifications and pursue ongoing professional development.
