Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ seeks a Staff Pharmacist (Research) to ensure safe, compliant handling of investigational therapies across the Rutgers Cancer Institute network. You will coordinate drug accountability, compounding, and distribution for multicenter clinical trials.

The role supports OHRS with education, site initiation, and protocol verification, while maintaining regulatory documentation and patient education throughout the trial process.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and registered by the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Effective oral and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with OHRS, multidisciplinary medical team, Sponsors and CROs for study activation.
• Manages chain of custody, transfer, and IXRS data logging for investigational agents distributed from the New Brunswick repository.
• Provides remote drug information, protocol verification, and safety calculations for trial teams at satellite facilities.
• Performs patient eligibility reviews, chart prep prior to treatment, and investigational order verifications.
• Dresses out physician orders for drug-related issues and reviews patient-specific profiles.
• Educates patients about prescribed investigational medications.
