Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks an Oncology Registered Nurse for travel assignments in California. The RN will evaluate, plan, implement and document oncology nursing care under physician direction, in hospitals and outpatient centers.

Responsibilities include surgery prep, patient education, and coordinating cancer treatments, with infusion support in outpatient settings. Travel between Bakersfield and Torrance may be required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state practicing.
• One year of experience in oncology nursing preferred.
• OCN certification preferred.

• Educate patients and coordinate treatments; monitor vitals, side effects, and pain in outpatient infusions.

Job description

The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implementsand documents nursing care for the oncology patient population under thedirection of the physician. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitalsand outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology RegisteredNurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of theircancer treatments. In outpatient carecenter settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatmentssuch as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients’ vitals, sideeffects, and pain.

• Current RN license in state practicing
• One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
• OCN certification preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
