Job summary

Amergis is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Thornton, Colorado. The nurse will evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care for oncology patients under physician supervision and will assist with chemotherapy and infusion treatments in outpatient centers or hospitals.

Requirements include active RN license, oncology experience preferred, and CPR/OCN certifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state practicing
• One year oncology nursing experience preferred
• OCN certification preferred
• CPR certification if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement and document oncology nursing care for the oncology patient population
• Assist with surgery prep in hospital settings
• Coordinate cancer treatments in outpatient and hospital settings
• Monitor vitals, side effects and pain during chemotherapy and infusions

The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for the oncology patient population under the direction of the physician. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitals and outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of their cancer treatments. In outpatient care center settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatments such as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients’ vitals, side effects, and pain.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN license in state practicing
• One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
• OCN certification preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
