Job summary

Oncology Consultants is seeking a New Patient Referral Specialist to coordinate referrals for oncology and hematology services. You will verify insurance requirements, obtain necessary referrals, and communicate with patients, providers, and carriers to minimize delays.

This role partners with the New Patient Intake, verification, and Front Office teams to ensure a smooth referral process and timely patient access to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting, preferably oncology/hematology.
• Experience with insurance verification, referral coordination, and prior authorization processes.
• Experience using EHR systems and standard office technology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process oncology referrals with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations for visits and tests.
• Serve as liaison between patients, referring providers, and external facilities.
