Job summary

Viltis seeks an Associate Scientist, Research & Development in La Jolla, CA to support oncology projects. You will conduct bench experiments for next-generation sequencing–based diagnostics, collect and analyze data, and maintain rigorous lab records under supervision.

This is a full-time contract with standard hours and occasional travel. The role requires a life sciences degree, strong MS Office skills, and US work authorization; safety in a BSL-2 lab is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a BSL-2 laboratory environment and comply with safety requirements.
• Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory experiments and R&D activities for NGS-based molecular diagnostic solutions.
• Conduct bench experiments and generate & analyze data.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and notebooks.
• Prepare reports and technical documentation describing methods and results.
• Collaborate with project teams to advance concepts through product development pipeline.
• Travel approximately 5% as required.
