Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is hiring a full-time Retail Pharmacy Technician to support in-office dispensing of oral oncology drugs and telepharmacies. Under supervision of a physician or pharmacist, you will handle dispensing, records, inventory, and patient financial assistance.

The position involves coordination with providers, processing prescriptions, managing prior authorizations, and ensuring accuracy in documentation and billing within the pharmacy system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Illinois Technician License or pursuing.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification or plans to obtain within 90 days.
• 1–2 years retail or specialty pharmacy experience including insurance billing, inventory management, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records and screen for drug interactions.
• Process prescriptions in the pharmacy management system for oncology patients.
• Submit and manage prior authorizations with clinical staff for expedient approvals.
• Troubleshoot Medicare Part B verification requirements.
• Assist with copay and patient financial assistance programs.
