Job summary

The Medically Integrated Oncology Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in our clinical care team by managing the fulfillment, financial navigation, and delivery of oral oncolytics and chemotherapeutics. Operating directly within our physician-dispensing practice, you will work closely with oncologists, nurses, financial counselors, and external care teams to minimize delays in cancer treatment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; oncology or specialty pharmacy training is desirable.
• Minimum 2 years pharmacy experience; oncology or specialty pharmacy background preferred.
• Florida licensure as CPhT, CPhT-Adv, or RPT is required for physician-dispensing environments.

Responsibilities

• Physician-Supervised Dispensing: prepare, label, and package oral oncolytics under supervision.
• Patient Advocacy & Care Coordination: smooth out logistical hurdles to ensure timely medications.
• Collaboration: coordinate with external teams to optimize drug procurement and inventory.
• Care Team Integration: sync oral therapies with IV treatment, labs, and clinical notes.
• Financial Navigation & Copay Assistance: assist with prior authorizations and assistance programs.
• Adherence & Refill Management: contact patients for refills and monitor dosing adherence.
• Data Management & EHR Syncing: document pathways and ensure EMR alignment.
• Safe Handling & Inventory: manage high-cost oncology meds with proper storage and safety rules.
• Compassionate Communication: provide patient-centered service during stressful times.
• Cross-Training Opportunities: Retail/Internal Pharmacy, Chemotherapy Prep, Allergen Immunotherapy Prep
