Job summary

Novant Health’s Cancer Institute Lake Norman in Huntersville, NC seeks a Pharmacy Technician II - Certified to join our outpatient oncology team. The role supports medication management across care dimensions, with shifts 7:30am-5:00pm, and requires hospital experience with sterile compounding.

You will work under the supervision of pharmacists, handling hazardous and nonhazardous admixtures, refills, and regulatory compliance, with travel to additional cancer institutes as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; a 2 year/associate degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in acute care or one year acute with two observed pharmacy skills; or equivalent.
• Outpatient Oncology: two years in any setting with one year in sterile compounding (IV/chemo) required.

Responsibilities

• Compound and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous sterile admixtures.
• Process refills to automated machines and replenish emergency kits/carts.
• Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and pharmacy software.
• Maintain regulatory requirements (USP 797/800, Board of Pharmacy, DHHS, DEA).
• Procure medications and supplies (site specific).
• Answer and screen calls; refer to a pharmacist when appropriate; travel to other sites as needed.
