Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is hiring a Pharmacy Technician I for a per-diem role at our South Lake Union Campus. The position primarily runs Monday–Friday with occasional weekend/holiday shifts. You will process prescriptions, assist pharmacists, and support medication safety and inventory controls.

Required: WA state pharmacy technician license, high school diploma, and ability to perform calculations. Preferred: retail experience, oncology knowledge, EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Washington state pharmacy technician license.
• Able to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately.
• Able to communicate clearly in person, by phone and in writing.
• Familiar with generic drug names and indications.
• Proficient with pharmacy computer systems and orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, packages and labels medication accurately.
• Online processing of prescription orders including billing.
• Triage phone calls and electronic messages related to medications.
• Interact courteously with staff and patients.
• Clean and restock pharmacy areas.
• Perform cycle counts and check expiries.
• Operate CII safe and follow controlled-substance procedures.
• Direct inquiries to pharmacist when needed.
• Answer non- pharmacist questions within scope.
• Assist in training of technicians and interns.
• Follow state and Fred Hutch policies and procedures.
