Job summary

US Oncology Inc. in New York seeks a Pharm/Admix Tech to support compounding or admixing medications under supervision, verify orders, approvals and patient data, and maintain logs and temperature records.

The role requires high school diploma, 3–5 years in a pharmacy with IV skills, IV certification preferred, and a pharmacy technician certificate or state board requirement recommended. You will work in a team delivering quality cancer care in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy with IV skills.
• IV certification preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Checks all orders for completeness of information, verifies patient information and physician authorization.
• Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing and prepares drugs within guidelines.
• Calculates dosage volumes and maintains indigent drug program; counts controlled drugs weekly and maintains records.
• Maintains drug information, MSDS sheets and proper disposal of materials used for chemo or non-chemo IVs.
• Logs and dates drugs, maintains temperature logs, and records protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
• Maintains inventory control and proper documentation of medications.
• Receives, shelves medications, prepares labels, files and performs data entry into pharmacy systems.
