The role focuses on insurance verification, eligibility assessment, patient counseling on financial obligations, and coordination with Billing Office to ensure accurate documentation and smooth front-office operations.

Qualifications

• Three years of medical business office experience with insurance procedures and patient interaction.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics in the system.
• Obtain initial and subsequent pre-authorizations for services and surgeries.
• Counsel patients on insurance benefits, co-pays, and payment arrangements.
• Assist patients in obtaining financial assistance and external resources.
• Document the counseling process and forward to Billing Office.
• Support front-office duties and maintain required documentation.
