Job summary

Strong knowledge of cell therapy, BMT, and chemotherapy regimens is preferred. The clinical nurse role emphasizes triaging patient messages, scheduling treatments, and monitoring patient progress to adjust care plans

Qualifications

• Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Nursing - minimum
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - preferred
• 3 years Relevant acute care experience in their area of specialty - minimum
• 1 year Must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least one year to be promoted within the clinical ladder - minimum
• RN State License - California
• BLS - Upon Hire required
• ANCC Specialty Certification - 1 Year minimum OCN
• Other competencies as required by specialty unit (e.g. ACLS, PALS, fetal monitoring)

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment plans and what to expect during oncology journey
• Provide information on managing side effects and quality of life during treatment
• Triage patient messages and prioritize responses
• Care coordination with physicians and other nurses to ensure comprehensive care
• Assist in scheduling treatments and follow-up appointments
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
