Job summary
University of Chicago Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) in Hyde Park. The APP will deliver comprehensive direct patient care, diagnose and initiate treatments, and collaborate with hematology/oncology faculty, pharmacists and nurses as part of a skilled ORAC team.
Requirements include NP or PA program completion, Illinois licensure/DEA numbers, and oncology/urgent care experience
Qualifications
- MSN required for Nurse Practitioner path.
- Current and/or eligible Illinois RN and APN licensure/registration.
- NP certification by ANCC or AANP.
- Ability to obtain Illinois and DEA prescribing numbers.
- Prior oncology/urgent care or ED experience preferred.
- Acute care experience preferred for NP track.
- PA path requires accredited PA program and NCCPA certification.
Responsibilities
- Take patient history, conduct examinations, diagnose illness.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging as needed.
- Exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide diagnostic/therapeutic services.
