Job summary

Lexington Oncology is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a full-time Day Shift role in Columbia, SC. The nurse will manage comprehensive oral chemotherapy care plans, assist with procedures, and perform PICC/VAD care, while coordinating patient education and safety.

Responsibilities include documentation in the EHR, triage by phone and in person, and collaboration with physicians and support teams to ensure high-quality cancer care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current South Carolina RN license is required.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS and CPR certification are required.
• National Oncology Certification within 2 years of hire.
• Strong analytical skills with knowledge of cancer and cancer therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in an office setting and educate on oral chemotherapy care plans.
• Assist physicians with procedures, administer injections, draw blood, and manage PICC/VAD/Hickman care.
• Triage patient calls, communicate orders and lab results, and ensure proper medication instructions.
• Document all chemotherapy dosing and nursing activities in the EHR.
• Coordinate patient care and refer to social workers, dietitians, and hospice when appropriate.
